Darren (Phiz) Phizacklea grew up in Cumbria and comes from a farming background. It was around the family farm that he acquired his love and knowledge of the countryside.

His family and friends introduced him to rough shooting, fishing, wildfowling and deer stalking from an early age and he has retained a passion for field sports throughout his life.

He is a former member of the British archery team, representing GB at both junior and senior level. In 2000, he gained a BA (Hons) in sculpture, which he studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London.

After completing his art degree, he went on to work for the London based wine merchants Lea & Sandeman, before moving to the Sussex countryside in 2006 to pursue his rural interests as a career.

His favorite sports are deer stalking, rough shooting for wild game and fly fishing.
